Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
March 2025
Greetings to you as we enter deeply into Lent in preparation for the joy of Easter! This year, as the whole Church celebrates the Jubilee Year, we are especially united in faith with our brothers and sisters in Christ across the globe.
We are grateful that priests, deacons, women and men religious, and lay Catholic leaders have answered God’s call, not just in our own communities, but in the missions of the world where conditions are dire. The Society of St. Peter the Apostle (SPA) ensures that these precious vocations are met with the critical resources they need to flourish — benefiting local communities, the Universal Church and the entire world.
In the Diocese of Loikaw in Burma, a team of itinerant priests is helping the community live out the Jubilee Year in exile.

In November 2023, Christ the King Cathedral and the pastoral complex in Loikaw were seized and occupied by the military. Ever since, 90,000 Catholics have been scattered and subjected to violent conflict.
In response, the priests and faithful of the diocese have established multiple pilgrimage centers where the Jubilee can be lived out among those who benefit from their ministry of consolation.
Your donation to the Society of St. Peter the Apostle helps ensure that vocations to the priesthood and religious life in communities like Loikaw can be lived out. But that is not all! SPA is also one of the four mission societies of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS). So, when you support SPA, you are also fortifying the faith here at home where the PMS is passing on and living out the missionary spirit to our Canadian Church.
Whether we are in a parish in Canada or at a Jubilee center in Burma, we all depend on good priests to strengthen and sustain us. Help our Church thrive and grow by investing in what counts the most, the training of future priests and religious.
At this special time of the year, please help us maintain and expand this momentum with the gift of your prayers and, if possible, a donation to the Society of St. Peter the Apostle today.
With sincere thanks and prayer,

Bishop John A. Boissonneau
National Director
